Orion Hotels and Resorts shines in AA Quality Assured Accommodation Awards
Orion Hotels and Resorts was the undisputed star of the recent AA Quality Assured Accommodation Awards, with two of its properties winning distinguished national awards and six of its hotels being nominated as finalists in five different categories. Orion was nominated for more individual categories in the awards than any single hotel operator in Southern Africa.
"We're over the moon with our achievements!" says Orion Hotels' CEO, Franz Gmeiner. "We've worked hard to set and maintain the standards at our various hotels and are pleased that these efforts have paid off. It's an honour to be recognised by the industry in this way."
Orion's Mont-Aux-Sources Hotel in the Drakensberg, KwaZulu-Natal, was named a national winner in the leisure hotel category, and the Wartburger Hof Hotel in the Natal Midlands a national winner in the small hotel/inn category cialis reviews.
The six Orion Hotels named as national finalists in the awards included Safari Lodge (full service and/or conference hotel category); Mont-Aux-Sources Hotel (leisure hotel category); Selborne Hotel, Golf Estate & Spa (leisure hotel category); Coach House Hotel & Spa (luxury hotel category); Magoebaskloof Hotel (resort hotel category); and the Wartburger Hof Hotel (small hotel/inn category).
For the past 13 years, the AA Quality Assured Accommodation Programme has provided more than 3 000 establishments with an internationally recognised endorsement and quality seal in the hospitality industry. The programme assists establishments in reaching tour operators, the travel trade, local and international AA members, AA Fleet care customers and the general public. The AA is recognised internationally as one of the most powerful tourism accolades and is a well-established and trusted brand for travellers.
"These wins are a clear indication of the high regard the AA and the public has for our unique property," says Jacques Slabbert, general manager of Wartburger Hof Hotel. Adds colleague Francois Van Wyk, general manager at Mont-Aux-Sources Hotel: "This was a massive result for Orion, to be voted SA's best in two competitive categories. We're very happy with these achievements!"
Orion Hotels and Resorts now has 14 properties in its portfolio, and the recent AA Awards clearly affirm that it is fast becoming a major force in the South African hospitality industry.
